Located amid the breathtaking mountains of West Virginia, The Greenbrier is a National Historic Landmark and an award-winning resort that has been welcoming guests from around the world since 1778.  With a guest list that includes twenty-six U. S. presidents, this resort has long been a favorite destination of royalty, celebrities, and business leaders.  The Greenbrier served as a military hospital during World War II and at the height of the Cold War a top secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress was built on the property.  Code named “Project Greek Island,” The Bunker was decommissioned in 1992 after the program was exposed in a U.S. newspaper article.

Our day includes a unique and in-depth behind-the-scenes tour of the Bunker to experience a fascinating period in The Greenbrier’s history, a buffet luncheon, and a tour of the resort’s elegant architecture and interior design of famed interior decorator Dorothy Draper and her successor Carleton Varney.
