Join us on February 28 at 6:30 p.m. for the Created Equal Film Series in honor of Grady W. Powell. We will be showing the film "Underground Railroad: The William Still Story."
The life of one of the most important, yet largely unrecognized heroes of the Underground Railroad is brought to life in The William Still Story. The film explores the role abolitionists played in helping tens of thousands of men, women, and children escape bondage in the South as they made their way to northern states and even Canada. Not only did Still help with these escapes, he also took the great risk of keeping records of their movements in the hope of helping families reunite after escaping slavery.
