Family Programming

Explore Virginia history with VMHC Education through special programs for our youngest history enthusiasts and their families, including educator-led storytime and themed craft activities, guided highlight exhibition tours, nature walks, scavenger hunts, colonial-era replica games, and more.

Lecture Series

Authors and scholars discuss their most recent work and research on a wide variety of topics. Held in the VMHC's Robins Family Forum, the series is also streamed online. Past speakers include James I. Robertson, Jr., Ira Berlin, Cokie Roberts, Simon Schama, Harold Holzer, Gary W. Gallagher, and Douglas Brinkley.

History at Home

Did you miss a past event? The VMHC posts recordings of most of our live events on our YouTube channel. We also have several exclusive video-only series like Recipes Remade where our staff recreates and provides background about historic recipes and Games from the Past where our educators demonstrate historic games for the whole family.
