Facility Information

We are conveniently located at the corner of Kensington Avenue and N Arthur Ashe Boulevard in Richmond’s Museum District, with parking lot entrance on Kensington Avenue. We are accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. View a complete list of Guest Rules & Regulations.

Hours

  • Galleries and Museum Shop: open daily, 10 am – 5 pm
  • Library: open Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm **Please note: the Library will be closed on Saturday, April 27, 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience.**
  • All facilities are closed on New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day

Suggested Admission

  • FREE for members and student groups
  • Adults: $10
  • Seniors (65+): $8
  • Youth (6 – 17): $5
  • Adult Groups (10 or more): $8 per person
  • Active Military and Veterans: $8*

Suggested admission includes access to all (including special) exhibitions, library, and museum shop. Additional fees may apply to special events and programs.  


Photography Policy

The Virginia Museum of History & Culture encourages non-flash and video photography for personal use unless otherwise specifically prohibited. For the safety of our visitors and collections, tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited. Please note that photography is frequently taken at the Museum for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to appear in these images, please notify Guest Services upon arrival.

Members of the media seeking the opportunity to film within exhibitions space must clear their requests with the Manager of Public Relations and Marketing.
