In our library

Our research library, which provides access to an unrivaled collection of primary and secondary sources, is open to the public for historical and genealogical researchYou can access the vast collections of the Virginia Historical Society in person or online.

Admission

Admission to the research library is included with suggested admission to the museum.

LIbrary Hours

Open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

All facilities are closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Facility Information

Parking is available in our lot locate at the rear of the museum. The entrance is at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Shepard Street. Our building is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. View a complete list of Guest Rules & Regulations.
